Become a Village Global Advisor
The other week we tweeted out that we’re hosting an event for great operators who are looking to advise companies on the side.
In talking to dozens of entrepreneurs & investors, we realized that there lots of great operators want to advise companies and meet other operators & domain experts.
Some of these advisors want to give back by mentoring startups on the side, others want angel investment opportunities, and others want to set the stage to transition into VC later in their careers.
Being part of the Village Global network as an advisor is a great way to do all the above — it’s also a great way for us to get to know you for a potential venture partner opportunity.
Our first group of advisors so far is 25 people — a mix of founders and execs, functional and domain experts who are also geographically distributed who are part of the broader Village Global network.

Here’s how it works: We invite top advisors to be part of our extended network (e.g digital community, events, etc). Advisors are expected to be broadly available for select one-off office hours with companies. We look to match advisors with companies where they can make a unique impact. If any companies would like a more serious, long-term engagement with one advisor, we formalize the arrangement and grant equity to the advisor.
Our first advisor event in SF is December 14th. There’s a big NYC contingent too, so we’ll likely do events in other locations where there are more advisors.
We are seeking advisors with functional expertise (e.g product, GTM, company building, etc) as well as advisors with deep sector expertise. Some of the sectors we’re looking for include:
- Gaming/E-sports
- Computer Vision
- Cryptocurrency
- Transportation: AVs, Drones & Robotics
- Biotech
- Healthcare
- Ecommerce
- Fintech (lending, investments, insurance, payments)
- Enterprise SaaS
- ML/AI/Deep Learning
